About Me

Hello! I’m Ashley Dresser.

I live for that “Aha!” moment, whether it be facilitating a dynamic workshop, designing an online interactive course, or creating clever explainer videos to make concepts stick.

I’m a multilingual learning designer with 15 years experience working both as a freelancer and at global edtech startups. I love all things agile, AI, action mapping, and more!

Along with my instructional design professional expertise, my academic background in Language Acquisition and Global Studies has provided me with the toolkit to simplify complex subject matter for diverse range of audiences and to engage empathetically with unique stakeholders.

I’m a mix of “Midwest Nice” and “Basque Country Bold” and outside of the L&D world, you can usually find me camping or restoring old furniture.

My Design Process

Analysis

I lead with the right questions. I meet with stakeholders and SMEs to listen to their needs and identify the gaps in knowledge and skills that can be addressed with a learning solution. These conversations are crucial because not every problem can be solved with training! Whatever the case, I will make recommendations to set you on the right path.

Design

I turn the lights on. I select the best learning strategy and assessment to achieve your learning objectives and meet your budget and timeline requirements. I apply  instructional design models and learning theories to create a prototype that excites you. An initial testing phase ensures that we’re all on the same page.

Development

I let my creativity flourish. I play with the visual appeal and flow of your content in order to catch and keep learner attention. My canvas might be an online course, an instructor-led training, a game, a podcast, an explainer video or something entirely new. This is an iterative process that helps us to water the learning experience until it blooms.

Implementation

I announce “all systems go”! I organize the launch and deliver the learning experience to your learners. I establish and closely monitor enrollment, timelines, assessment criteria, and feedback collection.

Evaluation

I reflect and iterate.  I analyze feedback  and evaluate the outcomes of the learnign experience and make recommendations for future improvements. I remain committed to growth and innovation.
